PHOTOS BELOW!
Enna whelped 5 beautiful pups on Monday, June 10, 2002.  She began first stages of labor on Sunday, and she and I both had a LONG night!  The first puppy was born at 6:30 am on Monday morning, and the last pup was born at 3:15 pm.  We have 4 girls and 1 boy.  All pups are doing well and already growing.  CLICK on the photos to the right for enlargements.

1 Week Old
All pups are doing well and growing.  This first week was full of nursing and sleeping and growing.
  2 Weeks Old
The pups opened their eyes and began discovering their legs and walking.  They are still sleeping a lot, but at 2.5 weeks old they began barking and now they are hearing too.  We started them eatting a little solid food (our weaning diet), but at this point they are only eatting about 1/2 to 1 teaspoon at a time.  When they hear you or mom, they listen then start looking for you.

3 Weeks Old
On July 1st the pups are now three weeks old.  They have changed a lot in the past few days.  They are now able to climb out of their whelping box, so we added another board to it today.  The pups have received their first worming on Sunday, 6/30/02, and now they are beginning to look forward to their weaning diet, as they are eatting a little more and I have began to offer it to them 3 times a day.  They are now lapping water and still nursing.  The pups are beginning to play with siblings and investigate everything when they are out of their box.  MOM is now considered a "Moving Target"!

4 Weeks Old
At four weeks old now, the pups have baby teeth and are barking and playing.  Mom is weaning them, so they are drinking water and eatting their weaning diet 3 times a day.  They are also starting to nibble on some dry puppy food as well.  We all must have in between meals snacks... at least that's what they tell me!

5 - 6 Weeks Old
During this week, the pups have endured many changes.  Mom moved out of their room and now they only see her a couple of times a day, mainly for socializing and playing.  Mom is being a little more forceful with the weaning process and by the end of the week, they should be weaned.   Their appetities are increasing, and they are continueing to eat 3 times a day, but larger portions, with fresh water available at all times.  Another BIG issue this week is now they can outside into the kennel run.  They are learning to use the doggy door and starting to learn to go outside to potty, even thought they LOVE the air conditioner in their room!  Sunday...they received their first set of shots. This week is the beginning of a stressful period, where everything is changing and their life as they have known since birth... is evolving.

Mini-Movie of Pups

7 - 8 Weeks Old
This week, the pups received their tattoos and they are really outgoing and energetic!  The love to play and especially love to EAT.  Wednesday morning I feed them outside in the kennel area, when they finished eatting .. I heard a "clank-clank" and look up and one of the girls was carrying their feed pan through the doggy door!  I have had a lot of fun the these pups!  They are full of personality and very people oriented!
