SUMMARY OF WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH THE PUPS!

NEWBORN PHOTOS:
Freda whelped 9 pups on January 6, 2006. Second stage labor began around 4:00 AM, and the last pup was born around noon. They are active and strong, with good appetites. The reddish tint in some of the photos is from the heat lamp. Watch for an update of "Week One" at the end of the week. ROW 1:

WEEK ONE
The photos at the left, were taken when the pups are 8 days old. The past week had entailed eatting, sleeping, and doubling in size. The pups are very strong and healthy with hardy appetities! Freda is doing well in producing quality milk production at this point.
WEEK TWO
This week, the puppies opened their eyes and became a little more active (as you can see in the mini-movies to the right). They are beginning to walk around, though they are a little wobbly now, but that will change very soon. They received their first toenail trimming.
WEEK THREE
This week, the puppies began to hear and started reacting to sounds. They also started a little barking. Also received their first worming and another toenail trimming. The pups have been introduced to some solid food, and are receiving two "puppy food meals" a day plus Mom's milk. Notice in the photos to the left that we have enlarged their puppy box for more room.
WEEK FOUR
This week, the puppies are very alert and responsive. Also, they now have "teeth", which Freda doesn't like, so she has decided it's time to start WEANING! The pups are doing well and eatting moistened puppy food, and of course... they expect a bedtime story every evening after their last meal!

WEEK FIVE
This week is the turning point for the puppies. They are now weaned from Mom and eatting three meals (plus snacks) per day. They are playing and running, wrestling and beginning to have fun with each other. Sibling socialization... is in full swing!

WEEK SIX
The pups are really growing and very playful now. Last weekend, the pups learned to go inside and outside using the "doggie door". On Friday, 2/17/06, we gave them their first "puppy shots" and another worming! They also received another toenail trimming.

NOTE: Pups have colored collars for ID now:

GIRLS: Yellow, Pink, Aqua, Dark Pink

BOYS: Blue, Light Blue, Green, Maroon, Purple

WEEK SEVEN
The pups are doing well, and enjoying running and playing and biting and pulling each other's tails. Some ears are standing up.

WEEK EIGHT
The pups had a very busy week! On Saturday, the pups was wormed again, on Monday, they got tattooed in their right ear, for permanent identification. Thursday, they received their second set of puppy shots and a toenail trimming. And on Friday, some pups began going to their new homes!

WEEK TEN
Most of the pups have gone to their new homes now. Navigator has joined the ranks of "Aggie Guide & Service Dog - In Training" and is living with his Puppy Walker. We still need to find Ninja Moose and Nitro a good and loving home. Click on the link to the right to see the Ninja and Nitro page.

WEEK TWELVE
Ninja Moose (a.k.a. Rebel) has found a loving home and is doing well. Nitro is still looking for the "right" family for him. Even though Nitro is "home alone" with his siblings gone, he has been busy learning to sit, platz, and shake hands "howdy". He does well with getting his toenails trimmed and is learning to heel on the leash. Click on the link to the right to see the details of Nitro.

NITRO is SOLD
